WW2 British 1944 dated bolt action sniper rifle with No. 32 Mk III scope and mount. Used from WW2 into the early 1960's until they were replaced by the L42 series sniper rifles. Imported by CAI, marked on thee underside of the barrel. The left butt-socket is marked 'M47C', 1944 E34291 TR, the left receiver side wall is marked 'T' above "No. 4 MK. I" (Feint) The sniper scope is marked 'Tel. Sighting. No.32 Mk3 OS.1650A. 1944 No.17553 , correct one piece base/rings, unmarked. The scope has the standard British post and cross hair reticle pattern. The underside of the buttstock is stamped with proofs and acceptance marks. The top flat of the wrist is stamped with scope number '11443'. The underside of the fore stock is stamped with matching serial number, (Feint) with various proofs and small "10" in white paint on the underside of the buttstock. Safety lever stamped with a small "T". The comb is fitted with a wood cheekpiece secured with two wood screws. 10 rd magazine, aluminum buttplate with trapdoor. Correct triangular sling swivel, added Nov, 44. After giving better than average zeroing groups after test firing at the B.S.A and Maltby factories, then earmarked as possible sniper rifles by having the 'TR' stamp. Once it passed the final test it was stamped with the 'T'". Rear sight is stamped "SM" ( Singer Manufacturing) The bore is good/bright,strong rifling, light frosting in the grooves. action is smooth, the matte black/blue finish is very good overall, with some scratches/edge wear, and the wood is good/sound with many minor scratches. dents. Some minor wear on the scope, very clear optics. Comes with an additional scope mount with the front ring/base stamped "51" and rear "52".
