1) 12 BUGLES, BILLY CLUBS & POUCHES. This varied lot includes 12 brass bugles from the post Civil War period. Most bugles appear to be American. Size ranges from 9" to 22". / 8 Billy clubs ranging in size from 9" to 26". / 2 Russet leather equipment boxes w/ “US” in oval embossed on the front. 1 Oval has been defaced. 1 Box marked, “R.I.A.”. CONDITION: most bugles have some dents. Equipment boxes show period alterations. Billy clubs show light to moderate wear. (02-14414/BF). 2) 9 CIVIL WAR ERA BLANKETS. A group of 9 Civil War era civilian wool blankets of various sizes. Most blankets are of undyed wool, some w/ colored edging. 2 Blankets appear to have soldiers stencils on them that are of questionable origin. Nevertheless, all 9 blankets date to the Civil War period or before. CONDITION: all blankets are in serviceable condition. (02-14431(9)/BF). 3) CIVIL WAR & OTHER RELATED ITEMS. This varied lot includes 1 sixth plate tintype of a waist up view of a corporal wearing a state issue shell jacket. / 1 Pair of artillery enlisted crossed cannons hat insignia that appears excavated. / 1 Early 1750s button found in a wreck of an English merchant ship in 1948. / 1 Civil War cap box. / 1 Post Civil War tin cup. / 1 Fairly good reproduction of a North Carolina 2 piece belt plate. / 1 Framed needlepoint American Great Seal. Frame has some damage. / 1 Lg. artillery powder bag. / 1 Heavy ceramic mortar & pestle w/ an extra pestle. CONDITION: items generally show light to moderate wear. Cap box shows heavy wear.
