Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4" / 8x57 JRS. S#. The 23 5/8" bbls. are fitted w/ claw scope bases, popup rear sight & silver bead front in full length matted rib. Maker’s name & address are on bottom of bottom bbl. under forend. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped w/ Ulm Nitro proofs for 16 Ga., 2 3/4" & 8X57 JRS with proof date of January 1955. Rifle barrel shows some later dovetailed repairs at bottom with later proof date of August 1996. Coin finished scallop backed blitz action features unusual safety/rifle/shotgun selecting slide on top tang along w/ crossbolt 3rd fastener & dbl. triggers (front set). Action is lightly scroll engraved & has acanthus accents on slight reinforce to action. Trigger plate is stamped with Burgsmuller logo and is engraved “Triumph”. Trigger guard is steel. Nicely figured European walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock measures 14 7/8" over open sided “Whiteline” pad & features right hand shadowline cheekpiece, chin strap transition to grip, point pattern checkering & sling loops. Matching schnabeled forend has Deeley release. Drilling is mounted w/ Geco 6x rail scope w/ 3 post reticle without windage in claw mounts, rear w/ windage. MEASUREMENTS: SHOTGUN BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .676", L .665". Restriction: R .020" (MOD), L .024" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .036", L .040". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 3/4". LOP: 14 7/8". CAST: approx. 3/8" off. WEIGHT WITHOUT SCOPE: 7 lb. 10 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: fair to very good, needing some mechanical attention. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a good quality reblack. Action cleaned to a coin finish, shows some softening to engraving. Stocks w/ old oil refinish, checkering has not been recut. Shotgun bores are shiny and show some rippling in both bbls. Rifle bore is also fine w/ strong rifling throughout. Scope has many light marks & scratches in its exterior lacquer & a plugged hole in rear rail. Optically good, slightly clouded. Stock is reinforced through cheeks w/ 2 steel pins making repair to crack on right side of grip. This repair does not presently flex. There is an intermittent cocking/firing issue w/ regard to rifle bbl. which needs to be addressed to make this firearm safe. (22-4873/MGM). CURIO. $500-1,000.
