Belgian Zulu Shotgun 12 Ga SN: 9957
Fascinating breech loading single shot shotgun chambered for 2 1/2" blackpowder 12 gauge shells. The Zulu shotguns started life as 1857 French muzzleloading muskets, those muskets were soon converted to breech-loaders using the Snider system, known as the model 1867. Then, at the end of the Franco-Prussian War, the French sold off the model 1867s as surplus. Finally Belgian gunmakers bought them and converted them into shotguns. Features a 33” barrel marked “ZULU”, brass bead front sight, smooth curved trigger, knurled hammer spur, back action lock, iron furniture and straight grip half stock with smooth metal buttplate. Shotgun exhibits an aged dark brown patina with some scattered areas of blue. Action is sound, the bore is clear and the wood stock is near good with blemishes & a crack in the left forearm. NRA Condition-Good. Antique firearm
