British Fencing Musket, 62'' overall, with a flat-tipped spring-loaded rod. This is a purpose-built simulated Lee-Enfield No. 1 used to train soldiers in bayonet fighting techniques and is not a converted service rifle. Marked on left side of buttstock ''SPENCER HEATH & GEORGE LONDON'', surrounding their trademark symbol. It is also later stamped with a military unit identification ''1st C.O.L.R.F''. Condition overall is fair with most of the metal covered with old patina. The rod retracts fully and smoothly, the wood is fair with darkening and handling marks and a thru-crack at the wrist. Several sections have broken off behind the guard due to use. All damage was done years ago and has now aged to an even patina. Est.: $200-$350. (No FFL Required)(John Ackerman collection)
