British No. 4 Mk.1(T) Lee-Enfield Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, with No. 32 telescope, #30565, .303 British cal., 25.2'' barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, blade front sight with protecting ears and adjustable leaf rear sight with aperture removed, with Canadian made cotton sling. Marked on left side of action body ''M47C/1944'' above a ''TR''(Target Range) stamp. Right side receiver lug has a partial vertical ''S''(sighting) stamp; left side bolt way is stamped with the ''crowned D6 lazy E'' stamp of the Enfield Arsenal on-site inspector at the Holland & Holland Co. who oversaw the sniper rifle production. Underside of buttstock is stamped with a faint Holland & Holland Co. dispersal code ''S51''. Left side of receiver is stamped with the final acceptance ''T'' stamp which shows that this is an approved Telescope equipped rifle. Matching number on bolt handle and later engraved on magazine case. Mismatched number on forend; #3 bolt head. Matching scope number has been stamped into top flat of buttstock. All scope pad screw heads have single center punch stake. Transverse forend stock bolt hole has been putty filled. Forend has been notched at front sling band. Arsenal repair to toe of buttstock and right side of forend. Condition overall is very good with approx. 85% finish remaining on the metal. Wood has been sanded and oiled over old handling marks and is very good overall. Action is smooth, bright bore is excellent with sharp rifling. Import engraved on underside of barrel. Scope mount is a modern reproduction and is in excellent condition. Scope is marked ''TEL.SIGHTING No. 32 MK1/(W logo of mfg'r William Watson & Co.)/1943 No.2813/OS466A'', and includes an invoice indicating that it has been reconditioned by noted British armourer Peter Laidler. Scope condition is excellent with almost all of the dark refinish remaining on the metal. Scope optics are bright and clear. With reproduction leather scope cover in excellent condition. A re-conditioned No.15 rifle transport chest in excellent condition is also included. Est.: $2,500-$4,000. (C&R)
