American made semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 20 gauge shells, and manufactured in St. Louis, MO. Remington produced this vintage shotgun from 1940 until 1947 using the design created by John Moses Browning. It is a standard weight shotgun featuring a blued finish, an approximately 22" vent ribbed cut-down barrel, Lyman 'Cutts' compensator, steel bead front sight, serrated magazine cut off, steel trigger guard, annular cut bolt release, smooth slightly curved trigger, and an annular cut manual safety in the rear of the trigger guard. The hardwood furniture consists of a round knob semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, a finger grooved checkered forend, 14" length-of-pull, and a black plastic Browning butt plate. Receiver displays limited coverage of scroll designs with the Browning trademark on the left side of the receiver, and the top of the receiver has an abrasive blasted texture to it. The original blued finish retained is approximately 98% with light edge wear, and minor handling blemishes around the loading port. Metal shows small spots of rust on the receiver, barrel, and on the bolt and elevator. There was no observed deformation. Bore is bright, but needs to be cleaned. The action is smooth and crisp. Furniture wood is in good to very good condition with some handling marks.
Condition is NRA Good.
