Beautifully Engraved Browning Superposed Diana Grade 3-Barrel Small Bore Shotgun Set, #121V71, 20 ga. Frame is fitted with three pairs of vent rib barrels: A 28'' 20 ga. pair with 3'' chambers choked IC/Mod.; a 28'' 28 ga. pair with 2-3/4'' chambers choked Mod./Full; and a 28'' .410 bore pair with 3'' chambers also choked Mod./Full. All barrels have low vent ribs and target beads, and are serial numbered ''1'', ''2'', and ''3''. Receiver is left in the white and elaborately engraved in the Diana style with ducks rising on the right-hand side, pheasant on the left-hand side, quail flushing on the bottom, and rabbit on the triggerguard, all surrounded by floral motifs. This engraving appears to be a collaboration of two FN engravers: L. Ernst for the game scenes and J. Vanaubel for the borders. The long tang, flat knob buttstock and the three slender forends are all nicely figured dark European walnut; all have full coverage checkering at 24 LPI; the 14.5'' length of pull ends at a Pachmayr black ''Old English'' butt pad. Action features a single gold selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. Contained in period-correct Browning hard case. Mfg'd 1971. Condition is really excellent, with a couple small dings to the buttstock, light wear to the checkering, but almost no wear to the action, which is still quite tight and functions correctly. All bores are bright. Est.: $10,000-$15,000. (Modern)
