Scott & Son ''C Quality'' Side-by-Side Hammer Shotgun, #35313, 12 ga., 2-5/8'' chs., 30'' browned Damascus twist barrels with 7/16'' concave rib, front silver bead and inlaid eight-pointed gold star between the chambers; chokes are IM./IC., with a top fastener and extractor; London barrel address with Birmingham proofmarks. Case-colored action has very fine scroll and border engraving with a swan on the left lockplate, hammers are rebounding. Checkered round knob stock and splinter forend are straight-grain walnut with a light varnish and vacant silver oval on the toe line. Length of pull is 13-3/4'' over a 1'' red rubber recoil pad, drop at comb is 1-7/8'', drop at heel is 3''; weight is 7-7/8 lbs., mfr. date ca. 1884, Condition is good with 20% mottled case-colors, the balance drifted to silver-gray; barrels have 50% brown with overall scattered oxidation and small dents with light rust at the muzzles; screw slots are mildly deformed. Stock edges are slightly rounded from refinishing, the toe line has a few dents and fills, checkering diamonds have light flattening. Action is tight, bores are bright with strong mainsprings.
