CAC 45-1 Combat Model .45 Acp. SN: 1086
Rare pistol manufactured as a prototype of what was supposed to become the Mossberg Military .45 Combat model handgun. These pistols were developed by Bo Clarke as a possible replacement to the Colt M1911, though after a series of events, true production never saw the light of day. Compact .45 semiautomatic. Stainless steel matte finish. 4" barrel, 7.5" O/A, pinned serrated ramp, and windage adjustable rear sights. Short recoil, tilting barrel, 6+1 capacity, full length guide rod. No grip safety, but large beavertail, extended slide release , which can be operated by the shooters thumb, ambidextrous safety. Cam slot in the barrel. Black plastic checkered grips. Bore appears excellent, a little dirty. Action is smooth/tight, grips are very good, metal finish is good-very good with some minor scratches. A scarce pistol, one of these, serial number 1081, sold at Rock Island Auction for $1998.00 on Oct. 6, 2022. Condition is near NRA Very Good Modern Firearm
