HOLLOW". 2 Very interesting souvenirs probably collected by Union soldier, w/ nice inked identification, showing that this 8.5” spoon & 7” paddle “found in Camp Rich Hollow, Wharton Division, Early’s Corps”. Gen. Gabriel Wharton commanded 3 brigades of Virginia troops in the Shenandoah Valley campaign. Wharton was in winter camp after the Battles of Cedar Creek, December 1864, not sure of exact location of Rich Hollow, but historically there Is a Rich Hollow in Albemarle County. CONDITION: fine overall. (02-14880/JS). $300-400.
