POCKET REVOLVER. Cal. 32 RF. S# 937. Bbl. 3" rnd. w/ bead sight. The uniquely designed 5 shot cyl. has sliding tubes that form the individual chambers. Chambers slide forward over a fixed rod to load & eject. Silver finished brass frame w/ spur trigger having tasteful foliate scroll hand engraving. Number "36" marked inside of frame & grips. 2 Piece walnut grips. The Slocum was an attempt to circumvent the Rollin White patent owned by Smith & Wesson. Estimated 10,000 mfg. 1863-1864. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period presentation box w/ red velour fitted interior. Outside of lid has rectangular brass name plate w/ script initials that appear to be “G. J. A”. Inside lid has label “BROOKLYN ARMS Co / SLOCUM’S PAT.”. 23 Rds. of 32 Long RF ammo held in the case’s wooden cartridge block. Case cloth interior shows wear & staining. CONDITION: bbl. & cyl. have some remaining faded blue showing sm. spots of corrosion & very light pitting. Brass frame retains 25% worn silver finish. Grips have good finish showing light marks. Cyl. does not rotate properly when action is cycled. Bore retains sound rifling showing sm. Spots of pitting. (01-17963/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
