Cal. 31. S# 189312. Bbl. 4" oct. w/ brass cone front sight & New York address. 5 Shot rnd. cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Blue finished bbl. & cyl. w/ case colored frame & loading lever having silver finished brass trigger guard & backstrap. 1 Piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., wedge & loading lever have matching numbers. Mfg. 1861 during the U.S. Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an 11 3/4" x 9" wood casing w/ brass shield on lid. Blue velour fitted interior w/ directions for loading Colt pistols on the inside lid. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity bullet mold, UMC cap tin & case key. Exterior of case shows light wear w/ some scratches & marks. Interior is in very good shape showing light wear spots. CONDITION: fine overall retaining 30% cyl. & bbl. blue w/ balance flaking to brown. Very good cyl. scene. Frame, loading lever & hammer retain over 70% bright case colors. Grip straps have 60% silver finish. Grips have lightly worn original finish showing handling marks w/ sm. chip at butt of left panel. Crisp action. Bore retains strong rifling showing scattered spots of light pitting. PROVENANCE: from the estate collections of Charles P. Obremski. (01-20851/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
