AND 18. Cal. 28. S#s 11 & 18. Bbls. 2 9/16". Standard configuration improved 1st model (4th model Ehlers) Paterson revolvers made in their own serial range in 1840. Both pistols are all original w/ crisp proper bbl. addresses & centaur rolled cylinder scenes. This assembled pair are housed in Paterson-style casing w/ accessories. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: appraisal letter from Martin G. Lane. CONDITION: S# 11 very good to fine overall, appears all original & matching, retains strong original finish especially in protected areas. Matching serial number “11” observed on bbl. housing, back of cylinder, frame, backstrap, wedge, & grips. Grips are well fit w/ hand worn patina. Mechanically fine, crisp rifled bore. S# 18 very good overall, appears all original & matching, tiny traces of finish in protected areas. Missing right rear backstrap screw. Matching serial number “18” observed on bbl. housing, back of cylinder, frame, backstrap, hammer, base of lever & grips. Wedge is not serialized & shorter than “11” but appears original to time of use. Grips retain about 80% varnished finish w/ heavy edge wear. Mechanically functional w/ crisp rifled bore. Accompanying casing is sound, worn & soiled emerald green velvet lining, reproduction Colt capper retained in case by wire loop, brass & leather plunger flask, rare serpentine Ehlers-Paterson screwdriver/nipple wrench combination tool.
