REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 1285. Bbl. 5 1/8" oct., unmarked, except for Birmingham proofs & "6" on bottom. Assembly number 6 also appears on back of cyl. Case hardened cyl. has individual chambers numbered & each w/ Birmingham proof on exterior. Lightly scroll engraved boxlock action w/ long pepperbox type hammer has long cocking spur & marked "BAKER'S PATENT" on left side. Blued frame has patent markings "June 24, 1852" on top & sliding safety on left side that blocks trigger at half cock. Left side marked "T. K. Baker" "London". Fully checkered walnut bag grips. Are surrounded by blued iron frame. S# is on rear grip frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: revolver is housed in a oak case w/ circular brass disk on top & lined in green velvet. Lg. paper label w/ revolver pictured & instructions is in lid. Case contains 4 3/4" unmarked brass bag flask, combo tool, nutcracker type steel mold, brass loading rod w/ worm under cap, a Eley Bros. cap tin & key. CONDITION: bbl. retains approx. 80% original blue. Cyl. retains about 40% case color. Action & grip retain 20-30% original bright blue. Grips are good w/ some minor marks. Bbl. appears to be bored out to w/in 1/2" of muzzle. Mechanically good. Case retains most of its original finish on exterior w/ numerous marks, interior cloth is good, considerably soiled & dirty. Label is good, considerably foxed & minor rubs. Accessories goods, heavily toned. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19792/MGM). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
