VOLUNTEERS ALONG WITH 8 SPANISH AMERICAN WAR PHOTOS & MORE. This group consists of a fine mid-chest up view of Colonel Dana of the 143rd PV. The card appears to be signed by him on the front and has a Brady backmark. Also included in the group are 8 large photographs of Spanish American War soldiers in uniform. Most are armed with rifles and are wearing Mills style cartridge belts. There is also a photograph of 3 circa 1890 Russian soldiers. CONDITION: the CDV of Dana has clipped corners but is a sharp image with good signature. Two of the Spanish American War photos have damage, but all remain quite clear. The Russian photo also has damage to the edges, but the image of the soldiers remains quite clear. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B. Taylor. (02-19920/BF). $400-700.
