WAR USE. Cal. approx. 80. NSN. Bbl. 46", has lineal decoration at the breech w/ no discernable proof marks. The brass bladed sight is atop the front bbl. band. Plain iron lock of typical Dutch form. Brass trigger guard shows lobed ends. The brass buttplate has heavy half rnd. screws attaching it. There is a brass sideplate, ramrod thimbles, entry thimble, nosecap & front bbl. band. Both iron sling swivels are missing. Iron ramrod. Stock has lobed carvings behind the bbl. tang, lockplate & sideplate. The bayonet lug is on the bottom of the bbl. near the muzzle. CONDITION: the bbl., ramrod & the lock share a dark, nearly black patina. The lock holds both full & half cock. The brass has a very rich, early patina. The stock seems quite solid showing expected wear, dents & dings but no major faults. There is a minor loss near the front of the bbl. channel. Fair bore. (01-18981/BF). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
