In frame measuring 27 (T) X 39 (W) inches. Very old adhesive appears to fix the stars and the white borders of the bars to the flag. 11 stars total. Included is a letter missing the addressee's name which states that this flag was received by the sender by his father, who received it from his great grandfather who fought under General James Longstreet in the Army of Northern Virginia. The sender then states that the flag was made by the great grandfather's girlfriend during the civil war out of pine sap. The original envelope which held the letter is present, dated 1932. This lot has a reserve.

BIDDING
Bidding advances shall be regulated by the auctioneer and shall be at his discretion. He or she has the right to refuse any bids. Some of the items offered at auction are subject to a reserve. A reserve is a minimum price agreed upon by the consignor of the property and the auction house. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of the consignor in order to reach the minimum sale amount. If the minimum amount is not reached, the auctioneer may pass the item.
