Bbl., frame, trigger guard, backstrap & cyl. have matching numbers. Trigger guard & frame have "H" inspector's mark. 1 Piece walnut grip has partially visible cartouches on both panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt letter providing the following information "Serial Number: 8097 / Caliber: .44/c / Barrel Length: 8" / Finish: Blue / Brass / Type of Stocks: Not Listed / Sold to: United States Government / Shipped to: Capt. R.H.K. Whiteley / Commanding Officer / New York Arsenal / Address: Governor's Island, NY / Date of Shipment: August 6, 1861 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 500". CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a light mottled gray brown showing sm. dents & light corrosion. Bbl. is loose on frame. Wedge, wedge screw, loading lever, loading lever catch & all action screws are replacements. Brass trigger guard shows old polish. Grips show heavy wear w/ dents, marks & sm. chips.
