1) CIVIL WAR LEATHER, BACKPACK, CANTEENS & MORE. 1 Civil War tarred linen knapsack complete having appropriate leather straps. / 1 Civil War box style knapsack having most appropriate straps. Box is stenciled “65” on the front & “65TH. REGT.” on the reverse. / 1 Civil War Union canteen having green brown wool cover. / 1 Civil War tin canteen, no cover & replaced strap guides. / 1 Badly dented Civil War canteen, no strap guides & a hole in the bottom. / 1 1890s Period naval officer’s sword belt having madly deteriorated leather. / 1 Partial scabbard for an M1860 naval cutlass. / 1 Civil War tarred linen haversack reportedly carried by Corporal George Stinchfield, Company G, 12th Maine Volunteers. / 1 Civil War carbine sling having improperly sewn leather strap. / 1 Sons of Veterans sword belt & buckle. / 1 Carbine cuff. / 1 Partial leather sword knot. / Several loose leather straps. CONDITION: leather is generally in poor condition & has been soaked in oil during its life. Haversack shows wear but is substantially solid. All items show light to moderate wear except as noted. 2) CIVIL WAR BOOTS, FLAG & GAR HAT. 1 Pair of Civil War mounted boots measuring approx. 16 1/2" in height. Soles are nailed & pegged. There are pull straps on both sides. Heel has been reinforced on one of the boots. / 1 Current 50 star American flag. / 1 GAR hat & early hat cord. Standard GAR wreath on front & “69” above. Wooden hat stand included. CONDITION: boots show moderate wear. GAR hat has a hole in the front at the crown. Flag shows light wear. (02-14435/BF). $800-1,200.
