1) An oil painting of Abraham Lincoln measuring 28" x 22". Painting is on a wooden stretcher but unframed. Painting of Lincoln actually a paint printed likeness of Lincoln by Griswold Tyng on canvas. Painting has a signature of Griswold Tyng as part of the paint printed likeness. CONDITION: painting shows light wear overall.
2) A collection of 14 documents & 4 photographs pertaining to Frank A. Stitzer, a Civil War veteran who died at age 99 as a resident of Denver, CO but he was a native of PA. Documents include commissions, appointments & related documents. Photographs are lg. format mostly in uniform. An interesting archive relating to a Civil War veteran & long time member of the GAR. CONDITION: documents are generally quite solid w/ minor staining & edge tears. Photos are a bit worn on the edges but images remain sharp & interesting.
3) A photographic portrait of a WWI enlisted man. Frame measures 22 1/2" x 18 3/4". CONDITION: frame shows wear & losses at the edges. Portrait remains sharp.
4) 3 WWII & later posters measuring approx. 19 1/4" x 14”. The themes include 2nd War Loan, Naval Officer’s Candidate School & a Career in the Navy. CONDITION: posters show light wear.
5) A Civil War black & white print titled, “The Surrender of General Lee”. The framed print measures 27" x 32 1/2". The print depicts Lee surrendering to Grant under a tree. CONDITION: frame has no glass. There are a few scuffs & stains on the print.
6) A mustering in document for the GAR. The full color document measures 25 1/2" x 21 1/2" framed. CONDITION: document shows little or no wear.
7) A soldier’s memorial measuring approx. 22" x 18". The full color memorial is for Company H of the 16th Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers. CONDITION: document shows very light wear.
8) 4 Civil War documents in a frame measuring 37 1/2" x 14 1/2". CONDITION: documents are slightly discolored.
9) A soldier’s memorial in full color measuring approx. 26 1/2" x 22 1/2" & is for Company F of the 2nd Regiment of New York Cavalry. CONDITION: document is well worn, creased & stained. Glass is broken. Frame is well worn. (02-14465/BF). $800-1,100.
