1) 8 Civil War letters & covers from John Lineken Company K, 20th Maine from Jan. 1863 to Feb. 1864. There are several other Lineken letters included. Private Lineken had his leg amputated after Battle of the Wilderness, May 1864 & later died from his wounds. 2) Manuscript list of Company B, 19th Maine volunteers Aug. 25th 1862 Bath, ME. 19x9". Lists 79 soldiers. 3) 14x10" Leather bound ledger of Col. Mark F. Wentworth, 27th Maine Volunteers. 17 of the 20 pages are filled in w/ various orders. Oct. 3rd 1862, May 13th 1863. 4) 2 Photograph albums w/ CDVs or tin types of 4 identified soldiers from the 8th Maine & 10 copies of wartime letters of Edward Gordon 9th Maine Infantry. 5) Accompanying these albums is a 1/6 plate tin type of 4 Maine soldiers, 1 wearing VMM buckle. The seated Sgt. is holding an NCO sword, probably 8th ME. 6) There is also a set of transcriptions of wartime letters from Ferdinand W. Merril, who was in Company H, 6th Maine. 7) There is a blue cloth covered canteen w/ cotton sling w/ pasted label “CANTEEN CARRIED BY CORP. ELANZO. L. FARRAR COMPANY F, 21ST MAINE VOLUNTEERS”. 8) There are also 2 Maine appointments for the 8th ME & the 24th ME & a discharge paper from the 17th Maine. CONDITION: fair to good overall. Images & paper are very good. Canteen missing portions of blue cover. Original strap is frayed & knotted as normally seen. (02-14030-2/JS). $600-800.
