The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society is proud to bring the 2016 Colorado Statewide Bighorn Sheep license to the Wild Sheep Foundation Convention. Colorado has over 7,000 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep statewide. There have been numerous rams taken in Colorado that qualify for Boone and Crockett as well as Pope and Young. In fact, since 2005 Colorado is second only to Montana in the U.S. in the number of B&C bighorn sheep entries. In the past five years, the 10 auction and raffle rams were harvested from six different game management units, attesting to the excellent quality throughout the state.
The winner of this tag will have the opportunity to pursue a trophy ram for approximately a five-month time frame. The season start dates are unit and weapon specific and may open as early as August 1, 2016 but with the added benefit of a closing date of December 31, 2016. Most regular seasons close around the first week of October but the winner of this tag will be allowed to hunt during the rut and may be the only hunter in the field.
Guiding/Outfitting is not included with the purchase of this tag. This license is not valid for the harvest of a desert bighorn sheep and is not transferable to another person. If you are interested in this tag and want specific information on season dates, previous hunt photos, or other regulations, please visit us at Booths #765.
