REVOLVER. Cal. 38 CF. S# 89414. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon w/ ejector, Hartford address & brass cone style sight. Six shot round conversion cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Iron trigger guard & backstrap. Butt is stamped "USN". Left side of frame has added 1871-1872 patent dates & S inspector's stamp. 1 piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps & cyl. have matching numbers. About 3,800 converted in the mid 1870s. CONDITION: all parts retain 70% dull worn blued finish. Cyl. retains 90% scene. Wedge area on right side shows numerous small dents, wedge has snug fit. Grips show heavy wear & handling marks w/ chips at butt. Sound action. Bore retains strong rifling showing some light pitting.
