REVOLVER. Cal. 38 CF. S# 89784. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon w/ Hartford address & brass cone type sight. Right side ejector housing. Loading lever is removed & plugged. Bottom bbl. flat has inspector's mark "R.W.M." followed by the Navy Anchor. Round conversion cyl. w/ Texas naval scene roll engraving. Cyl. 4586 with matching number 89784 located on the cyl. face. Bbl., frame & backstrap are no. 89784. Left side of frame has 1871 & 1872 patent dates stamped over the original markings. Iron trigger guard originally no. 59704 is renumbered 89784. Butt of backstrap is marked "USN". 1 piece walnut grips. CONDITION: very good retaining over 70% blue & 90% case colored finish w/ carry wear on grip straps. Original grip finish shows wear w/ numerous scratches & marks. Sound mechanics. Bore is generally bright w/ strong rifling showing small spots of very light pitting.
