COLT 1900 US ARMY SECOND CONTRACT SEMI AUTO

PISTOL. Cal. 38 Rimless. S# 1603. Bbl. 6". Semi circular front sight with U notch rear sight. Slide has serrations in front area. Right side of trigger guard has "RAC" initials referring to sub inspector Rinaldo A. Carr. Left side of trigger guard is stamped "US". Slide has front square cut grooves of Model 1902 Sporting style yet legends the same as Model 1900. 1900 models incorporated a notch in the top rear of slide mounted safety with a cross pivot pin in the slide about 1/2" from rear. 1902 models have a distinct rear sight and a cross pivot pin about 3/16" from rear. This slide has both features with no example found in reference books showing both cross pins at once. Slide legends have Model 1900 appearance. Blue finish. 2 Piece walnut grips have added coarse checkering. Mfg. 1902. MAGS: 1 nickel finished 7 round. Floorplate is marked "PAT'D SEPT 9.1884". CONDITION: 70% reblued finish showing scattered light pitting and scratches. Grips have rough refinish. Mag. retains 95% nickel. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. (22-4278/DS).
