Cal. 45 ACP. S# C178839. Bbl. 5" with "COLT 45 AUTO MATCH" just above left leg that is stamped "MB" within a circle. Mfg. 1935 (1933-1941) and numbered within regular commercial Government Model series; approximately 10,000 units. 1st models had fixed sights until 1935 when adjustable rear sight became standard but fixed sights could always be ordered. This slide has fixed sights including square notched rear; wide semi circular front. Fully checkered walnut grips plus checkered arched mainspring housing. Slide lock & thumb safety are both checkered without milled under cut. Checkered trigger face, mag. release and hammer. Left front of trigger guard has "VP" proof and "X"; right side has "60". Top of frame has "G" provisional acceptance mark. Matching numbered slide. MAGS: very good two tone 7 rd. with some small spots of oxidation on spine. Base marked "COLT 45 AUTO.". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: spectacular original hinged dark purple box with tissue paper. Very lightly scuffed on bottom w/ matching S# and "Patterson" written twice. End label has appropriately added National Match sticker plus another National Match descriptive sticker on top of box at label end. CONDITION: wonderful appearing example with occasional extremely faint marks to include a hint of thinning at muzzle, some light marks on right side just above trigger and extremely faint marks by slide lock. Bbl. and breech face exhibit minimal use yet ejector somewhat peened on face but still retaining almost all finish. Visible portion of firing pin retainer in the white yet internals blued. Slightly different coloration to finish of mainspring housing and extractor; possible replacements. Exterior of bbl. has light rub marks from functioning. Good to very good bore with light wear and hint of even frosting in grooves. Grips about near excellent with faint hand wear; light thinning to screw heads.
