Cal. 45 ACP. S# C8824. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1914 (1912-1925) & often referred to as Model 1911 Commercial because of "C" S# prefix. Total production approx. 138,532 units. Standard features include: checkered wide spur hammer, short tang grip safety & flat smooth mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop. Checkered dbl. diamond walnut grips w/ light "F" scratched on bottom half of upper diamond on left grip. Period correct thumb safety; checkered w/ milled undercut. Late production serrated slide stop w/out undercut. Only bbl. marking is "P" at very front of in the white area for port; reads from muzzle. Top of frame by disconnector stamped w/ "S" & "R". Rear of slide stamped "H". Left side of trigger guard w/ "VP" at front & "R" at bottom rear. Standard semi-circular front sight & rounded top rear sight having U notch. MAGS: very good period looking mag. w/ bright portion of body beginning below locking slot. Pinned base fit w/in body having lanyard loop & appearance of swedged pins on right side; left side appears even w/ body. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: fair to good brown Colt hinged box w/ information labels on inside top & bottom plus Special Instructions folder. Bottom of box pencil numbered 124590. Government Model end label. CONDITION: very good overall appearance mixed w/ light high point wear, occasional sm. spot of peppery oxidation & occasional slight scratch such as on frame from improper slide stop installation. Very good plus grips having sm. dent on top portion of upper diamond on right grip. Later production slide stop has weld repair where pivot enters bar & is refinished. Replacement extractor having brushed rather than polished finish & sitting proud of slide. Light wear on bbl. exterior having good bore w/ slight wear & traces of cleaned frosting. (20-474/NW).
