COLT HIGH CONDITION 1861 NAVY REVOLVER.

Cal. 36. S# 1441. Bbl. 7 1/2" w/ German silver blade front sight. Top of bbl. has single line New York address. 6 Shot rnd. cyl. w/ naval engagement scene roll engraving. Case colored frame, left side is marked "COLT'S / PATENT". Silver finished brass back strap & trigger guard. Left side of trigger guard is marked "36 CAL". Left rear sight of trigger guard bow is stamped "L". Creeping loading lever assembly. 1 Piece walnut grips. Bbl., frame, trigger guard, grip strap, cyl. & wedge having matching S#'s. Number "2" is stamped above S# on bbl. & below S# on trigger guard & grip strap. Total of over 38,000 mfg. 1861-1873, S# of this revolver indicates 1862 mfg. CONDITION: very fine. Frame & loading lever retain over 90% dark case colors w/ some carry wear. Cyl. retains over 90% blue w/ some fading & a cyl. drag line. Over 95% of the cyl. scene is sharp & clear w/ sm. spots of light corrosion. Bbl. has over 80% bright blue blending w/ spots of flaking showing scratches & sm. marks, most prevalent around the right wedge area. Original varnish on grips is very good showing scattered light marks. Crisp action. Bore retains sound rifling showing scattered light pitting. (01-19993/DS). ANTIQUE. $7,000-9,000.
