PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 495780. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1918 w/in group of 347,000 in Army contract. Reworked twice by Augusta Arsenal having 2 sets of "AA" proofs by left front of trigger guard. Mixture of early & late features. Colt Type E narrow WWII hammer. Replacement serrated slide lock & Correct Type C checkered safety tab w/out undercut. Correct short grip safety & flat plain Type 1 mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop. Originally proofed w/ eagle "4". "H" provisional marks on slide & frame. Blued High Standard bbl. w/ "P" proof. Modern replacement fully checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 3 fair to good blued WWII 7 rd. TOTAL mags.; 1 Scovill (stamped "C-S" for Colt use), 1 MS Little (stamped "C-L" for Colt use) & 1 numbered "35365" on base (Argentine 1927?). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: very good Mills web belt w/ brass hooks holding Hoyt 1918 J.J.M. holster w/ rawhide thong having hangman's knot. Good w/ light "US" impressed on flap. Near excellent canvas dbl. mag. pouch marked on underside w/ boxed "R.H. LONG / 2-18" plus "WEP" near openings. "ENGER-KRESS" brown shoulder holster w/ US marking & strap. Noticeable wear, but no damage; fair to good condition. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ numerous very light marks throughout matte parkerized finish. Near excellent bore & grips.
