COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL.

Cal. 45 ACP. S# C43414. Bbl. 5". Mfg. May 29, 1916 per 2015 Colt letter that further states no other records available. Left side of frame at front has added Cyrillic markings (English Order) to resemble Russian contract model. Right side of slide has standard commercial markings. Left side has per Wilson’s reference book correct patent date markings but slightly unusual in that rampant Colt is at rear of slide rather than between lettering; much like period military markings. Colt name & address is more like style having C of Colts to left of H in Hartford rather than reverse. Bbl. marked in front of legs w/ “P” & faint larger “K”. Top of frame marked “T” & “S” by disconnector. Left side of trigger guard w/ “VP” proof plus “D” near mag. release; right side blank. All period correct features including double diamond walnut grips. MAGS: 1 very good cleaned 2 tone 7 rd. w/ lanyard loop. Blued follower w/ unused appearance. 1/4" Spot of oxidation near top of spine. Bright portion has appearance of buffing; especially notable at latch slot. Top rear of feed lips appear reshaped. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2015 dated factory letter stating there are no records for this gun. CONDITION: generally very good appearance w/ reasonable use & holster wear. Noticeable spotty finish loss on front strap as if by acidic hands; similar appearance on grip safety to lesser degree & even better appearing mainspring housing. Noticeable even use wear on bbl. exterior w/ fair even light pitting throughout bore. Very good left grip w/ only slight mid-point diamond wear. Darker right grip having more pronounced uniform diamond top wear plus sm. chip in top diamond near screw. Well cared for example w/ no signs of oxidation nor typical frame scratch from improper slide stop installation. (21-32/NW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
