COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL.

Cal. 45 ACP. S# 385509. Bbl. 5" correct Colt Type 4 as used to S# 425000 w/ "P" & "H" over chamber. Left leg appears stamped "D" as read w/ muzzle down plus "5" in front of legs. Mfg. May to Oct. 1918. Provisional "H" marked on rear of slide plus on top of frame by disconnector along w/ "G". Correct checkered undercut slide lock but later replacement checkered thumb safety w/out undercut as used after S# 425000. Colt Type D hammer w/ borderless checkering as used in WWII. All other features correct including eagle S5 inspector proof. Colt dbl. diamond walnut grips w/ correct 15 rows of checkering. MAGS: very good parkerized Ridson 7 rd. Top of tab marked "R"; bottom of tab marked "C-R" indicating for Colt use. Colt - Ridson marking unusual as most dbl. marked Colt mags. were Scovill or MS Little. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good plus well oiled holster by "Graton & Knight Co." dated "1943". "U.S." on back above maker & on flap in oval. CONDITION: slide appears polished w/out refinish in order to clean light oxidation that is still prevalent in right cocking grooves. Frame well worn w/ left side of dust cover polished & finish touch up to remove US Property mark plus sm. V notch at tip of dust cover. Hand wear & patina in grip area & light cleaned pitting on sides of trigger. Very good finish on thumb safety & hammer. New replacement bbl. link w/ slightly loose pin. Normal exterior bbl. wear; good plus bore w/ slight wear & hint of frosting. Very good grips w/ slight wear near butt showing mostly on right. Spring plug w/out finish except in checkering. Replacement extractor. (21-3765/NW). CURIO. $900-1,400.
