Cal. 45 ACP. S# 31506. Bbl. 5" early Type 1 as used from S# 100 to 6500 having horizontal serif "H" on rear of hood. Mfg. 1913 in Army contract of 19,150 units. Early unnumbered slide with 1911 patent date, rampant Colt behind left cocking grooves, round top U notched rear sight, tapered blade front sight, Army marking on right side and "H" provisional mark at rear; "H" also by disconnector along with "V". Mostly correct features (unless noted) to include slide stop plus thin safety tab; both checkered and undercut. Long tang grip safety and mag. latch are parkerized replacements as are finely checkered, aftermarket double diamond grips. Flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Early hammer with short beavertail and bordered checkering. Long, smooth faced trigger. Appearance of early spring guide with sharp points ground off; not later blunt profile. Finish is Colt's furnace blued "Fine Finish". MAGS: 1 very good unmarked, two toned 7 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good brown Boyt US flap holster having front and edges user dyed black. "BOYT -45-" marked back. CONDITION: good to very good overall appearance with fading / thinning on various areas such as slide and grip area. Extremely light mark from typical improper slide stop installation. Feed ramp in frame has been polished and barrel is lightly throated with fair worn bore having even pitting giving dark tone. Near excellent grips; thinning finish on screws with light slot marks. Slot mark on mag. release screw. (22-4425/NW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
