Cal. 52. S# 719. Bbl. 23.75” hexadecagonal (16-sided) to round smoothbore. About 950 manufactured from 1839-1841, standard configuration. This is a nice complete honest survivor that saw use, was not abused and cared for with all original matching serial numbered parts. Marked on left side of barrel lug “Patent Arms M’g. Co. Paterson N.J.-Colt’s Pt” terminating on either side with “snake and star” motif. Walnut stock. 2.5” Cylinder with rounded shoulders with chamfered chambers. 2-Grooved & 2-screwed wedge, loading lever attached on right side of barrel lug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1999 appraisal document. CONDITION: very good overall, appears original and complete. Rear sight is restoration, front pin sight original but cut down. Good patent markings, cylinder scene is only partially discernible. Matching serial number “719” seen on cylinder, cylinder collar, frame, barrel, wedge, trigger bow, buttplate & lower tang screws, and loading lever. Overall mottled gray patina with scattered pitting. Stock is sound with a couple of old small insets on edges. Mechanically functional, smooth pitted bore. (01-18833/JS). ANTIQUE. $20,000-30,000.
