Colt pocket navy revolver in 36 caliber with 5 ½ inch BBL, fully and finely New York style engraved with de-luxe checkered ramrod and finely knurled top to hammer spur, #13612. New York address with iron trigger guard and British proofs deluxe burl grips and inscribed “Capt. Hon R.H. de Montmorency, 32foot” Contained in original oak case with English style partition case lined in blue velveteen. The case is very good plus with most original label in LID. Rare colt pocket flask with correct 36 caliber charger in almost fine condition. 36P mold is very good plus condition with 75-85 blue. 500 count tin in very good condition by Eley. Cleaning rod and key. Exterior very fine with fancy initials in a “cypher” all matching number and crisp edges and markings. The engraving is exceptional and among the most deluxe we have seen on a pocket navy in 50 years of selling extraordinary colt and percussions. Provenance; a 1950s Salt Lake City, Utah collector who dealt with Dexter and Robert Abels. Lot #2143 James D Julia auction were listed sold at 32,500 + 6625 BP totaling 39,125. In the expert opinion of John R Gangel, this Colt has been professionally restored other than grips and straps.
