Cal. 41 RF. S# 775. Bbl. 2 1/2" matching numbered with flat topped rib having German silver blade sight and Colt Hartford address marking plus "2" at breech end. Approx. 9,000 mfg. 1870-1890 in 41 RF and (in London) 41 CF cals. Iron frame with varnished checkered walnut grips and knife edge extractor. Simple decorative scroll engraving on sides of frame plus around hammer slot. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good vintage flap (snap secured) holster appearing for small frame semi-auto pistol; single narrow belt loop. CONDITION: good appearance of cleaned oxidation with light pitting remaining on bbl. and to lesser degree on frame. Trigger and grip screws are replacements. Somewhat loose bbl. latch. Fair bore with distinct rifling and areas of pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (01-22439/NW). ANTIQUE. $400-500.
