This one, engraved; "WORLD WAR II COMMERATIVE / PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS" & "PEARL HARBOR - CORAL SEA - CORREGIDOR / GUADALCANAL - TARAWA SAIPAN - LEYTE GULF - IWO JIMA - OKINAWA - TOKYO” on the left side w/ feather motifs. Frame marked w/ special commemorative serial number on right & on left; "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A". Slide marked underneith w/ matching serial number. Standard military 1911A1 features such as serrated slide, blade front & drift adjustable rear sights. Checkered hammer spur, thumb safety, slide release & mag release. Smooth front strap & serrated mainspring housing. Lanyard loop below grips. Nickel finish w/ smooth hardwood grips containing gold Colt medallions. MAGS: 3 steel 7rd. 1 matching nickel & 2 blued in tan mag pouch. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory provided wood box w/ simulated bamboo lid & glass display pane above green velvet, fitted insert. Inside box cover contains 7.75" x 11" print of Japanese surrender. CONDITION: All aspects indicate as new. Finish & grips appear as delivered from Colt w/ no noticeable degradation aside from a small scratch on slide directly above disassembly notch on left side. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Presentation box was shipped w/ 2" x 3" brass plaque & 7 plated 45 ACP rounds that are not present. (23-502/JZ). CURIO. $700-1,100.
