COMPLETE AMERICAN 180 SMG PACKAGE WITH EXTRA

DRUMS AND BARRELS. Cal. 22 LR. S# B01189. Bbl. 16 1/2". Originally mfg. & imported from Austria, the earliest American 180 variants were classified as Dealer Samples due to the inability to import transferable machine guns after 1968. E&L mfg. started building a version in the United States & since they were domestic in mfg., these were fully transferable firearms. The American 180 is an open bolt, select fire 22 LR buzz saw that typically feeds from a 176 rd., 3 tiered metal circular mag. mounted on top of the receiver. E&L mfg. made a few plastic mags. w/ a capacity of 165 rds., 220 rds. & 275 rds. All of them utilize a captured spring winding mechanism to operate, just like the originals. The cyclic rate is often rumored to be in excess of 2000 RPM & a single burst in a full mag. is completed in only 7 seconds. The sound is as unique as its appearance, compared more to that of a chainsaw than a firearm because of the excessive cyclic rate. The bbl. is finned in a similar style to that of the legendary Thompson w/ a protected blade front sight & an adj. peep rear sight. The forend, pistol grip & shoulder stock are an attractive matching hardwood. Finish on all exposed metal parts is blued or black paint all bearing the same color & tone. Left side non reciprocating charging handle. Safety is located on the right side of the receiver. The selector is a cross slide pin. When pushed from left to right, full auto is selected & will continue to fire as long as trigger is held to the rear. When the pin is pushed in from the right, it is an open bolt semi auto action. The unique drum, w/ winding assembly is mounted on the top, above the chamber, forward of the trigger. The ejection port is below the firearm forward of the trigger. Top of factory length bbl. just rear of front sight marked "MADE IN AUSTRIA". Other markings directly below drum placement include “AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL CORP / SLC UTAH USA / A002118”. It is also marked “CAL. 22 LR” directly above chamber. Also includes 9" bbl. w/ a heavy profile & threaded muzzle bearing the familiar wooden Thompson SMG style vertical pistol grip. Removable rear stock locks w/ a single push button to the rear of the receiver similar to that of a Thompson SMG. Sling swivel left rear side of receiver. MAGS: 2 polymer E&L Mfg. believed to be 165 rds. & 220 rds. (possibly 275). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: extra 9" bbl. w/ vertical fore grip, 1 metal winder, 1 E&L loading tray, E&L owner instructional manual, 1 black nylon transport bag. CONDITION: original finish enjoys full coverage on exposed metal surfaces w/ some thinning on high spots & in areas of mechanical intervention. No major visible flaws of any type. Wood furniture exhibits only light handling marks w/ several sm. impressions typically associated w/ storage. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. Both drums appear to be functional & both rotate freely. Both bores are shiny w/ visible rifling. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT SMG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-1535/JZ). MODERN CLASS III. $6,000-9,000.
