FLAG, PROBABLY TUCKERS NAVAL BRIGADE. 94” Hoist, 140” fly, canton 64" x 60", all hand sewn, wool bunting, cotton stars, and heavy canvas hoist with sewn in rope for attachment. This flag was deassessed in 2015 from Tarrytown New York Historical Society, many years loaned to the US Naval Institute who misidentified flag as Richmond Depot. There is possible identification of this flag as one of the Tucker Naval Brigade flags captured at Sailor’s Creek, April 6, 1865. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: accompanying historical essay by CS flag expert and vexillologist Greg Biggs. Letter of authenticity & conservation by Fonda Thompson. CONDITION: very good overall, good colors, mounted to fabric covered foam board that folds. Reductions from battle and insect are scattered as can be seen in photos. (02-17513/JS). $15,000-30,000.
