Bottoms of bbls. stamped w / 1950 Belgian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Coin finished O/U action features non automatic safety & single selective trigger. Action engraved w/ 50% coverage simple scroll surrounding game scenes w/ pointer pointing game bird on left side & setter pointing another bird on right. Trigger guard engraved w/ a flying duck. The Royal Crown is listed as having game scene engraving & silver crown inlay, this early example does not have the inlay. Lightly figured & nicely streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 3/4" over leather faced white line pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip & vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching 3 piece ejector forend has Anson type release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: bore diameter: top .722", under .716". Restriction: top .028" (Imp. Mod.), under .014" (Mod.). Min. Action w/ nearly all its coin finish has some light flecking. Trigger guard retains nearly all of what appears to be a reblue. Stocks retaining nearly all hand rubbed oil finish w/ some light marks.
