CSMC 21  GRAND AMERICAN  2 BBL. SET SHOTGUN WITH
CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. S# W38351. Bbls. are 30" 12 Ga., 3" & 26" 12 Ga., 2 3/4". Both barrel sets are fitted with interchangeable choke tubes & slightly raised matted ventilated ribs with ivory beads. Breech ends of barrels are engraved with 3" triangles of scroll. CSMC information is marked on tops of left barrels. Engine turned barrel flats are stamped with gauge, chamber & serial number information along with proofs. Loops are stamped "1" & "2". Blued flat side, standard size, Model 21 action features non-automatic safety (can be reversed to automatic) & gold plated single selective trigger. Engraving is factory original. Action is engraved in near full coverage shaded scroll surrounding oval vignettes of semi-relief gold inlaid dogs & birds; a woodcock & setter on left side & pointing pointer & grouse on right. A flushing quail is on bottom of action & portrait of a setter is on trigger plate. A right facing spaniel is on trigger guard bow. Engraved steel capped pistol grip buttstock of nicely crotch figured American walnut measures 15 5/8" over black leather covered pad. Stock is 21-B carved with fleur-de-lis & ribbons through checkering pattern. Gold oval on toeline is engraved "BIC". Matching long beavertail forends with inlet ebony tips are numbered "1" & "2" on irons & inside of stocks. These numbers are also gold inlaid on secondary release latch housings. MEASUREMENTS: Stock - with 30" bbls. LOP: 14 1/2" over leather covered pad. DAH 2 3/8" DAC 1 7/16", no cast. Weight - 8 lbs. 2 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun & both barrel sets are housed in dark brown oak & leather case with brass corners in leather trimmed tan canvas over cover. Case is lined in burgundy cloth & has Winchester Repeating Arms Co. label in lid along with CSM label. Bottom partitions are oak topped. Case contains cleaning equipment, snap caps, square oil bottle & 6 Briley choke tubes (certified for use with steel shot) with 2 wrenches (4 other tubes in barrels for a total of 10). CONDITION: very fine. Barrels retaining over 95% blue with slight silvering on sharp edges. Blue of action rates about the same with light silvering on thumbpiece. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish with a fair scattering of marks, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering lightly worn. High edges of grip cap somewhat silvered. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. Case is very fine as protected by its outer cover which has some scuffs. Interior cloth has some rubs & light soiling from contact with barrels & action.
