Cadomin Mine Tour - Alberta - 2 Person
Home of the largest Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep in North America! These bighorns know a good thing when they see it. The reclaimed coal mines are in the Foothills of the Rockies and have been designed for wildlife habitat. The reclamation now supports healthy populations of bighorn sheep, mule deer, elk, and all the large carnivores - grizzly bear, wolf, cougar.

Small mammals and birds associated with subalpine and alpine environments also live here – see hoary marmot, golden-mantled ground squirrel, Mountain Bluebird, Golden Eagle and many more.

You pick the Date!

You will always see bighorns, but your choice of season will determine what other
wildlife you will see - lambs in June, grizzlies in July, rams in the fall.

Beth MacCallum completed a Master of Environmental Design on the bighorns of the
Luscar Mine. Her advisors were Valerius Geist and Bill Wishart. She has conducted
annual wildlife surveys on these mines for many years and won the Wild Sheep
Foundation Outstanding Achievement Award in 2010 at Reno Nevada for her work with
bighorn sheep.

The tour for 2 people includes meals and accommodation provided by Teck Coal Limited.
