''The Regal Model XXV'' Scalloped Frame Side-by-Side Boxlock Shotgun, #23877, 20 ga., 2-3/4'' chs., 25'' blue barrels with matted Churchill high-tapered ''Quick Sighting Rib'' and brass front bead, choke constrictions are .032''/.012'' with double triggers, ejectors and automatic top tang sliding safety. The action has a bright coin finish with standard rose and scroll engraving patterns extending along the upper and lower tangs and forend iron. The barrels are stamped with an A&F, Houston, TX import mark. Mfg'd approx. 1979. The French walnut straight-hand stock and Anson release splinter forend have a light oil finish and 20 LPI checkering with drop points and a silver oval on the toe line. Length of pull is 14-3/8'' over a checkered black composition buttplate, drop at comb is 1-1/2'', drop at heel 1-3/4'', cast off 1/4'' and weight of 5 lbs., 2 ozs. Overall appearance remains nearly new with only a few minor handling marks. The gun is fitted in a Churchill, Ltd. felt lined, green canvas and leather V.C. case with a complete set of unused cleaning accessories; the case exterior has scattered oil stains and scuffs. Included with gun are original Churchill, Ltd. papers and a 1981 dated Certificate of Authentication, along with a catalog from the 1981 Christie's-Abercrombie & Fitch Auction in Dallas with this particular gun listed and sold as Lot 69.
