Civil War Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, 4th Type, #155065, .36 cal., 7.5'' octagonal barrel, with a long German-silver blade front sight marked with the one-line ''New-York U.S. America'' address; round 6-shot cylinder with the rolled naval battle scene; frame is marked ''Colts/Patent'' on left side; brass gripstraps are marked ''36 Cal'' on left bolster of the large rounded triggerguard; varnished one-piece walnut grips. Condition is good to very good. Steel surfaces retain no original finish but have an overall brown-gunmetal gray patina with occasional light roughness; the cylinder with traces of scene and patent lettering, and general roughness; the brass with an age patina and traces of silver plating in protected areas. Wood grips are modern replacements. Barrel address is sharp; other markings are worn; visible numbers match except lever and wedge (both are original Colt parts); lever-plunger screw is a poor replacement. Action is tight and sure; bore is clean with light erosion and sharp rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)
