Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver, with Reproduction Shoulder Stock, #130044, .44 cal., 8" round barrel marked with maker's name and "U.S. America" address in 1-line, has patented creeping loading lever below; rebated 6-shot round cylinder roll-engraved with naval engagement scene and marked "Colt's Patent No. 0044" over "Patented Sept. 10th 1850"; open-top frame marked "Colts Patent" at lower left, has recoil shield cut at both sides for attachment of stock, separate brass trigger guard and iron backstrap, 1-pc. oil-finished walnut grips. Mfg'd. ca. 1863. Condition is very good retaining no original metal finishes, being smooth age-brown gunmetal with clear markings, visible cylinder scene, age-toned brass, and sound grips showing scattered light dings (esp. at butt), quarter-inch chip out at left heel. Visible serial numbers match, action is crisp, bore shows overall light roughness and sharp rifling. Unnumbered stock of oil-finished walnut shows a few light marks and pleasing grain, toned brass, blued fittings incl. lanyard ring. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
