Civil War Manhattan Series IV Navy Percussion Revolver, #66055, .36 cal., 4" octagonal barrel marked with maker's name and Newark address and "Patented March 8, 1864" on top flat; 5-shot round cylinder is roll-engraved with five oval panels of military scenes and "Patented Dec. 27, 1859" along rear circumference; open-top frame has 2-pc. brass gripstraps and 1-pc. varnished walnut grip. Mfg'd ca. 1859-68. Condition is very good retaining no original finishes but an overall dark gunmetal color. Grips are sound with wear at sides of butt and perhaps 25% original varnish. Edges and markings are very good, cylinder scenes are soft, visible numbers match including arbor; wedge unnumbered. Loading lever is a replacement. Action works well, bore shows overall moderate erosion and very good rifling. Est.: $500-$750. (Antique)
