Civil War Remington Beals Navy Model Single Action Percussion Revolver, #13367, .36 cal., 7.5'' octagonal barrel marked ''Beals' Patent Sept. 14, 1858'', and maker's name and address in two lines on top flat; plain round 6-shot cylinder; solid frame has a long sighting groove in topstrap, integral gripstraps, separate brass trigger guard, two-piece oil-finished walnut grips. ''13367'' appears on bottom barrel flat, a ''C'' is stamped on left barrel flat at frame juncture and repeated on left frame lug. Mfg'd ca. 1861-62 in only about 14,500 guns, originally in full blued finish with case hardened hammer and trigger, and unfinished brass. Condition is very good, the steel parts having a smooth light gunmetal color with occasional light dings, lightly age-toned brass, and smooth unmarked grips that fit very well and retain much finish. Pistol is tight; action is crisp; lightly frosted bore is bright with sharp rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)(John Ackerman collection)
