Civil War Smith & Wesson No. 2 Old Model Army Spurtrigger Single Action Revolver, #24514, .32 Long RF cal., 6'' octagonal barrel marked ''Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass.'' on top rib, 6-shot round cylinder with 1855-59-60 patent dates on central periphery, manual cylinder stop on topstrap with early three-pin feature, two-piece rosewood grips. Originally with blued and case hardened finishes. Condition is very good, retaining no blue but an overall gunmetal gray color with clear markings; tip-up barrel hinge is solid. Grips are smooth and undamaged, the right side with most original varnish and the left without finish. Action is smooth and crisp; bore is shiny with defined rifling. A popular sidearm among Union officers and enlisted men, this gun's serial number indicates production during the mid-Civil War years. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique)
