Rifle originally built around 1850 as a target rifle. Converted to a sniper rife at the beginning of the Civil War, when a scope was added. Following the Civil War, the scope was removed and it was converted back to a target rifle. It has a reverse set trigger, walnut half stock with pewter nose cap, heavy round barrel. Approximately 41 caliber. Perfect rifling. Has bullet starter, built for the gun. Start is rifled to match rifling on the gun. Ramrod is not original (fiberglass) and butt plate is not original. Rear sight is not original Bullet starter is custom fit to this rifle and has a site block so the rifle cannot be fired with the bullet starter in place. It was built to fire an elongated bullet wrapped with greased paper patch. This gun is a 9.9 out of 10!

We work very hard for the consignor as well as the buyer. The auction moves fast between the auctioneer, the on site bids, and the live internet bids. Because of this, one little delay, or what we call 'hiccup' in the internet connection, can cause an online bid to be missed. We apologize if this happens, but it is sometimes inevitable. Please be aware of this when attending a Proxibid auction.
Due to the element of Third Party Auctions and the reliability/unreliability of technical issues, we reserve the right to end an auction early or extend an auction as we see fit. We value our customers, both buyers and sellers, and try very hard to ensure an exciting, smooth, successful auction! We are happy and willing to work with you under any circumstances.
