Martially marked & inspected single action percussion revolver issued to the Union Army during the Civil War, manufactured circa 1862. Features an 8" barrel with "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-" marking, German silver blade front sight, 'v ' notch rear sight cut into the hammer, thin smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder, loading lever, semi-oval brass trigger guard, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & backstrap and one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip with no visible cartouche. Includes a period brown leather holster rig with the initials "RHW". Serial numbers match on the barrel, cylinder pin, frame, trigger guard and backstrap with the cylinder unnumbered and the barrel wedge stamped 1571. Inspector marks: Barrel - "D, "P", "OI" & two punch marks. Cylinder - "P", "7" & two punch marks. Frame - "P" & "R". Front Strap - "H". Backstrap - "C". and Cylinder Pin - "K". Revolver is primarily in-the-white with a light brown patina forming on the barrel, cylinder, frame & backstrap. The loading lever shows traces of bluing and the roll-stamped scene once impresses upon the cylinder has been removed. Action performs well, the bore is good with some scattered pitting, the marking are mostly good with the exception if the cylinder and the walnut grip is good with losses at the toe on both sides.
